June is now over and that means a lot of things: we only have two months of summer left, the weather is unusually warm (casual global warming panic attack), vegan ice-cream is often on sale and I only have a month before I’m leaving Scotland. The last one is particularly scary because next year I will be living in Hannover, Germany, trying not to die when communicating in my broken German every day. Sure, I am excited for this change, but also terrified. And more than anything right now, I am realizing I’m going to miss Glasgow very much. It has been my home for the last two years and yes, I will be coming back after my year abroad, but right now that seems so far away. I’m planning on really enjoying the time I have left in this wonderful city.
Much like I did the last time seasons changed, I wanted to welcome the summer of 2018 by celebrating what I loved this spring: one last good-bye to the old before we go all in with the new. It’s always difficult to choose only a few favourites because three months is plenty of time to see and do some amazing stuff. However, these below are the things I loved the most during the past ninety days.

Even though it is still quite cold outside, winter has now officially ended. (Finally, am I right?) I couldn’t be happier about this (I’ve been constantly cold for more than 4 months now) – spring is my favourite season. However, before I get all excited about the future, I’d like to talk about the past couple of months – and the things that made them bearable. Here are some of the things I’ve loved and enjoyed during the last three months.

For the last couple of days I’ve been doing a massive binge-watching session of the series Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. I’ve heard about the show before but I didn’t know much about it. But then on one lazy afternoon, after finishing Everything Sucks! and wanting to watch some more relatable LGBT content, I decided to google. And I googled and googled and finally settled on watching Crazy Ex-Girlfriend because of two things the show promised: super weird songs and a bi character.

Like every anti-social millennial ever, I spend a lot of time on Netflix. Like, a lot a lot. So much so that if I type the letter ‘n’ in my browser, Netflix is the first thing that comes up, beating my own blog and also my online banking. Oops.
As I watch so much Netflix, I feel like it is my duty to pass on my knowledge and write these posts about the things I watch. You know, so other people don’t have to face the cruel reality of social life and have some ideas for the sweet escape that Netflix so kindly provides. I’ve already done two of these (one on Once Upon a Time and one on The Crown) and I decided to spice things up a little with part 3: that is, I will recommend 5 series, not just one! How crazy is that?!

As my first ever episode of Watch the Classics with me (read more about the ‘Classics series’ here, where I explain the concept and talk about Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein), I decided to write about this great film I’ve only seen fairly recently. Yes, you guessed it from the title: it’s The Breakfast Club.

Recently I wrote a post about Once Upon a Time and its new season which is currently on Netflix. I thought it would be a good idea to write about some other Netflix favourites of mine, and that is what I am doing today.
And the series I will be talking about? The Crown.

I love films. I watch them all the time, I go to the cinema as much as I can and my Netflix list is probably as long as the Great Wall of China. I love films because they offer escape, entertainment and a good excuse to snack on unhealthy food. They are also my favourite kind of social activity (because you get to be quiet and not social at all, yet it still counts as spending time with people).
2017 has brought many films to the table. I was excited to see many of them and I went to the cinema so many times. I have made a list of all the films I watched, and I picked my favourite five to share with you.

Happy New Year, everyone! I hope you are having a great time and I wish you all the best in the year to come. This post is, again, my favourites. There are many things I have been loving in December and I wanted to share them with you – so let’s get straight into it. Continue reading “December Favourites: Nerd Edition”
It’s Christmas Eve tomorrow! Can you believe it? I sure as hell can’t.
Christmas means a lot of things: family, joy, happiness… but also tons of food, tacky jumpers, holiday songs and films. And since my blog is all about geeky and nerdy stuff, I decided to write about my 3 ultimate favourite Christmas films and why I love them.

Does anyone else feel like this year has just gone by? Honestly, I swear April was like three weeks ago! Anyway, unless my calendar is lying, it is now December: which means it’s time for exams, deadlines and stressful Christmas shopping. But before all of that, I’d like to reflect on this past month with my favourites!
