My 3 favourite films to watch during Christmas

It’s Christmas Eve tomorrow! Can you believe it? I sure as hell can’t.

Christmas means a lot of things: family, joy, happiness… but also tons of food, tacky jumpers, holiday songs and films. And since my blog is all about geeky and nerdy stuff, I decided to write about my 3 ultimate favourite Christmas films and why I love them.

Love Actually

How Christmas-y it makes me feel: 8 Christmas trees/10

It comes as no surprise to anyone who knows me that I absolutely adore this film: after all, it is a romantic comedy full of British accents and great actors. I mean, one of my first crushes was Colin Firth (also Hugh Grant tbh) (also Keira Knightley but I didn’t know I was bi back then so that was confusing).

My favourite scene: little Sam running through the airport to tell Johanna he likes her

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone

How Christmas-y it makes me feel: 6 Christmas trees/10

Even though it is not strictly a Christmas film, many people watch it during this time of the year. And I am one of those people.

I have always been a huge Potterhead and the first Harry Potter film just makes me feel all nostalgic, warm and fuzzy: which are feelings I associate with Christmas. It is all about finding your place in the world, choosing your home and your family and about the magic of it all. I love this film and I can’t wait to watch it tomorrow or on Christmas Day!

My favourite scene: “I’m not going home, not really.”

How Christmas-y it makes me feel: 10 Christmas trees/10

This is my favourite Christmas film of all time. I love it so much I can’t even begin to describe it. It’s one of the funniest films ever made and it combines the comedy with all the Christmas-iness so beautifully. I already made plans to watch it tomorrow and on New Year’s with my mum. You can’t get enough of Kevin McAllister and his genius booby traps!

My favourite scene: Kevin shaving (I mean, c’mon)

So, these are my top 3 favourite Christmas films. Let me know in the comments what are some of yours, I really love watching all kinds of films, especially the ones that make me feel the Christmas spirit.

Also, I have planned some great blog posts that will all be coming to you pretty soon, so stay tuned and come back when you feel like reading something nice.

Until then, enjoy these next few days and… MERRY CHRISTMAS! ♥

  1. Yesss, I love these films! I would personally add The Polar Express and Anděl páně (a Czech one, but a good one), because both of them are funny and give me the biggest Christmas vibes. 🙂 Great post! xx
