August Favourites: Nerd Edition

August has gone, September is here. That means less lying about and more studying, working and being tired. Yay! (To be honest, that ‘yay’ is only half-sarcastic.)

Before we all get into our September mode and start being all serious again, I’d like to celebrate the month that August 2017 was. I got to travel a lot, see and do loads of things and I really enjoyed myself these last 30 days. Therefore it comes as no surprise at all that I have many favourites from this past month that I’d like to share with you guys.

I decided to divide my favourites into 6 different categories: Music, TV, Film, Books, Travelling and Miscellaneous.

Music

What do I know? – Ed Sheeran

I love all songs from Ed Sheeran and the whole album (Divide) but there is something special about this song. It’s so positive, beautiful and sends a wonderful message. I listened to this a lot during August (note: it’s great when you have to do some cleaning as it just fills you up with this positive energy that really helps to speed up the process).

Something Just Like This – The Chainsmokers & Coldplay

I love this song, this video, I love everything about it. I know it’s been out there for a few months but I only just properly discovered it now and I can’t stop listening to it. Ask my sister, she would know.

TV

Game of Thrones: Season 7

As you can see from this post, I love Game of Thrones. This last season has been, in my humble opinion, just brilliant and I can’t wait to rewatch it. Hopefully we’ll get season 8 sooner rather than later.

Films

Wonder Woman

I’ve seen this film during the first week of August when I was in Amsterdam. I went with my sister and even though she was a bit sceptical about seeing it, we both ended up loving it so much. I think this might just be my favourite superhero film yet.

Dunkirk

Again, I went to see this in the cinema, this time in the Czech Republic. I didn’t expect much of it because I’m not really a fan of war films but I was pleasantly surprised. I loved this film and I honestly want to see it again.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens

This one has been a long time coming – I mean, it’s been out there for 8 months now! I was kind of reluctant to watch it at first but I couldn’t have been more of a fool to postpone it. I absolutely adored the film and I am sooo excited for The Last Jedi. Please, let it be December soon!

Imagine Me & You

I’ve seen this film before, like a year ago or so. I liked it but I didn’t particularly love it. Then I watched it again this month and now I can’t stop thinking about it. It’s got to be one of my favourite rom-coms ever. I mean, it has Lena Headey and lesbians in it! I’m surprised it took me this long to realize how perfect this film was.

Books

A Feast for Crows – George R. R. Martin

AFeastForCrows

A Feast for Crows is the fourth book of the series called A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin. It is also the book upon which Game of Thrones is based.

It took me two years to finish this book, I’m not gonna lie. I didn’t love it at first as I thought it was a bit of a let down after the third book. But I got back to it and finished it during August and by the end of this book I loved it so much I now consider it my favourite of the series. (There is a lot of Jaime, Brienne and Cersei chapters – which I loved so much.)

Travelling

Amsterdam

As you probably know from this post and this post, I’ve recently been to Amsterdam. It was my first visit there and I was so excited. I went with my sister for a week and it was honestly so great! We managed to see and do so much and I really recommend you visiting the city if you can. It’s so worth it!

I’m just going to say this: Love is love! ❤

Miscellaneous

Blogging

I’ve started this blog middle of August and I’m already in love with it more than I should be. Blogging is just such a therapeutical activity and I’ve always loved writing. I have so many ideas and plans for nerdoverseas and I can’t wait to start working on them!

Workout Clothes

I’ve never really been able to appreciate sports clothes… that is until now. I went on a biking trip with my family and it was honestly so great: except for the fact that my butt hurt so much from the seat. It was then when I discovered the wonder of biking pants, sports t-shirt and good shoes. Now I swear by them, they make it so much easier to like sports!

And that’s all I’ve been loving this month. What are some of your August favourites? And are you excited for September? Let me know in the comments. 🙂
